Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is made by laminating multiple glass layers with adhesive under high temperature, using PVB, EVA, or SGP interlayer to create high-security safety glass.
๐ Performance Features
- Good safety practice: Breaks into particle fragments that cling to the interlayer, hard to peel, splash or penetrate, protecting people and property.
- Excellent sound insulation: Reduces outside noise, making interiors quieter.
- Good heat resistance and energy saving: Weakens sunlight transmission, cutting air conditioning energy use.
- Safety in buildings: If broken after installation, stays in frame, preventing flying fragments.
- Disaster Resistance:
-
- Hurricane and Earthquake: Stays intact, doesn’t fall.
-
- Explosion and Bullet: Can be customized for high security needs.
- Anti-ultraviolet Radiation: Blocks up to 99% of UV rays, protecting interiors.
- Noise Reduction: PVB film dampens noise well.
๐ Quality Standard
Complies with GB15763.3-2009, GB17840-1999 for bulletproof, and international standards like AS/NZS 2208-1996, ANSI Z97.1-2004, BS6206:1981.
๐ Specification
- Thickness: 5mm – 60mm.
- Maximum size: 3050๏นก6000mm.
๐ Applicable Range
Widely used in construction (curtain walls, ceilings, skylights), safety rails, also in manufacturing, automotive, and commercial/residential buildings where sound control or safety is needed.
๐ ๏ธ Laminated Glass Process
- PVB laminated glass: Combines processed glass sheets with PVB, then heat & pressure. Steps include pre-processing, cutting, washing, drying, lamination, de-airing, edge sealing, unloading.
- Resin laminated glass: Pours resin between glass sheets, cures, but not as safe as PVB type.
๐ช Features of Laminated Glass
- Durability: Keeps color and strength over time.
- Design Versatility and Installation Ease: Can be flat/curved, use various glasses and interlayers. Non-heat-treated can be cut etc. on-site.
- Low Visual Distortion: Avoids โroller wavesโ, gives sharp reflected images.
๐ Applications of Laminated Glass
Used in many industries. In buildings, it’s a go-to for safety and noise control. Key for areas prone to glass breakage.
